The Vondelpark and Museumplein area has good tram connections to the city centre. It's also not too far to walk. If you don't mind walking you can save on your hotel bill as the hotels tend to be a cheaper in this area.Special Offers
If you like your history the Vodelpark was created in about 1860 and designed to look like an English landscape. The Museumplein or Museum Square is home to the main museums of the Amsterdam: the Rijksmuseum with its substantial collection of Dutch paintings (old masters), the Van Gogh Museum with the largest collection of Van Gogh works anywhere in the world, the Stedelijk Museum of modern art, and finally the Diamond museum. For museums in Amsterdam head for the Museumplein.
