The Best Western Museum Hotel is housed in a traditional white painted building, which was built in 1886 and is an Amsterdam landmark. The small lobby is very simply decorated and could benefit from some refurbishment. The 110 guestrooms feature relatively understated décor, with red patterned bedspreads and curtains, which contrast with the plain cream walls. The spacious gallery restaurant, which is next to the Stadhouderskade, has a nice view over the canal. Featuring a black tiled floor, wooded furniture and ceiling fans, it is open for dinner every day and offers a wide choice of cuisine. There is also a cosy bar on the lower ground floor, the perfect place to relax after a full day’s sightseeing.
