The Arena Hotel is housed in a free-standing old orphanage building, which dates from 1890 and was originally an orphanage. Inside, monumental marble staircases, cast-iron banisters, stained-glass windows, marble columns and original murals have all been faithfully restored. The large lobby is fairly minimalist, but features an impressively ornate staircase.

The 127 guestrooms vary in size due to the age of the building. They are appointed in a rather spare style and feature timber roof beams and wooden floors. The restaurant has been renovated and now features attractive wooden floorboards in the style of a French brasserie. It serves international cuisine and overlooks the forecourt of the hotel. Guests can enjoy drinks and meals in the garden during the summer months.
